ABOUT SOLER MAGIC

Magic has been my profession for most of my life. Creating it has always been the part I love most.

I started in magic at the age of twelve, working in a magic shop, and became a professional performer at fourteen. Since then, magic has taken me to stages, television shows and events in more than 70 countries.

But somewhere along the way, performing existing illusions stopped being enough.

I wanted to build the things I imagined.

That curiosity became Soler Magic.

Over the years, I have created original illusions such as Head Off, T-Cut, Bathrobe Costume Change, Floating Couch, 3D Printer and many others. Some were created for my own performances; others were developed for professional magicians around the world. I've also had the privilege of collaborating with extraordinary performers and seeing ideas that once existed only in my workshop become part of shows on stages very far from home.

MY APPROACH

My approach to creating magic has always been shaped by performing it.

I don't design illusions only on paper or ask myself simply, “What trick can I make?”

I prefer to ask, “What would be impossible to see?”

Then comes the harder question: how can I make it work in the real world?

I think about what the audience will actually see, how clean the image can be, whether the illusion can travel, how long it takes to set up, what happens before and after the effect, and whether it survives the reality of a professional stage.

Sometimes the solution comes from mechanics, sometimes from clothing, engineering, psychology, or simply looking at an old magical principle from a completely different angle.

That is why many of my ideas may be unusual, but they are designed to be practical. They are not created just to demonstrate a clever method.

They are created to be performed.

The method is important, but it is never the destination. The audience should remember the impossible image, not the apparatus that produced it.

That philosophy is also why much of what you find at Soler Magic is handcrafted, produced in small quantities or created specifically for a performer. I am not interested in making hundreds of interchangeable magic props.

I would rather make something with an identity.

After decades in this profession, I still approach a new illusion with essentially the same curiosity I had when I was twelve.

There is always another impossible thing worth trying.
